April 2022 | New Moon: The Great Awakening
New Moon - April 1, 2022 @2:24 EDT
All planetary placements are based on the Sidereal Zodiac with whole sign house system and uses Lahiri Ayanamsha.
If last month’s full moon was the beginning of the end, this month’s new moon was the start of a new beginning! There are several occurrences in April that will initiate a period of profound spiritual awakening and transformation. All the planets (except Pluto and Uranus) will change signs in April. These transitions initiate a season of grand expansion with the potential for deep and long-awaited healing.
There are six notable cosmic shifts occurring this month: Jupiter entering Pisces on April 13th, Neptune entering Pisces on April 18th, Mercury entering Taurus on April 24th, Venus entering Pisces on April 27th, Saturn entering Aquarius on April 29th, and a Partial solar eclipse on April 30th. Since all except one of these shifts will happen after the April 16th full moon, this forecast will focus on providing an overview of the massive energetic shift we will be experiencing this month and the significance of Jupiter entering Pisces. Other shifts will be detailed in future forecasts.
The cosmic shifts that are to occur this April are tightly focused. They mainly involve four constellations (Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, and Aries). Pluto and Uranus, the only two planets not changing signs in April - or for the next several years, will act as opposing anchors and bound the changing energetic tides that will occur in the constellations between the placement of these two planets. Pluto and Uranus will stretch us in opposite directions as they continue to bring dramatic changes and upheavals for a few more years.
Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries have been squaring each other since early 2020. The past two years have been an intense and confusing tug of war between Pluto erupting the past (outdated structures deeply rooted in antiquated beliefs, ideas, and inspirations) and Uranus pushing us toward an emerging future (fresh innovative perspectives and rapid revolutionary change) that has yet to fully reveal itself. This alignment has created quite a challenging tone. It has demanded that we adapt and respond quickly to a rapidly shifting landscape.
From 2020-2021, as Saturn and Jupiter congregated around Pluto in Capricorn, we faced a serious reckoning with material loss, physical limitations, and isolation at unimaginable spiritual and emotional depths. When Jupiter moved into Aquarius in the middle of 2021 the pressure of these experiences eased. However, our focus stayed on trying to survive and integrate these experiences. And for many this included difficult and confusing reflections on our identity, our past, and our dreams.
It has been almost impossible to find real meaning to all that we’ve been experiencing because during this time Neptune, the ruler of the subconscious, was and still is transiting the final degrees of Aquarius near Pisces. This has been clouding our ability to construct a conceptual meaning of our existence and kept us from being able to surrender to it. Jupiter’s transit through Aquarius with Neptune since 2021 only compounded our inability to construct a meaningful narrative, which kept us locked in a painful liminal space.
Psychically, all this is quickly ending. As the planets move collectively away from (Pluto in Capricorn) outdated modes, collapsing structures and institutions toward (Uranus in Aries) innovation, rapid change, fresh perspectives, and rapid advancement - so will we. The coming cosmic energy will pressure us to reframe the psychological wounds that have resulted from the loss and suffering not just from the past two years, but from many, many years ago that are lodged in the depths of our beings into magical narratives that heal.
When Jupiter, the planet of expansion and wisdom, moves into Pisces on April 13th we will feel a new space emerge within and around ourselves. A cosmic window will open as Jupiter enters its own sign. This will allow a more fluid and easier connection with something beyond. For some this will feel frightening, but for most it will invigorate. The sense of ease that has been lost for the past two years may feel eerie when it returns on this heightened level. As Jupiter continues to transit Pisces the erupted concretized ways of being that were helpful in the past, but no longer serve us will feel less constricting.
The April 1st new moon is an aperitif to the six-course feast the universe has planned for us. The energetic frequency is shifting dramatically in just 30days. Our focus will also change with this shift. Just as there was a satellitium of outer planets in Capricorn to mark the beginning of the COVID pandemic there will be one forming this month in Pisces beginning with Jupiter on April 13th. By the time we have the next new moon (April 30th), which will be an eclipse Pisces will contain Neptune, Jupiter, and Venus! So much mysticism, magic, and awesomeness await.
