This year’s summer eclipse season (May 26th – Jun 10th) contained some intense under currents that may make today’s eclipse and the next 30 days euphorically cathartic. The surprising shifts eclipses are known to bring started weeks before eclipse season officially began.
Notably, on May 11th a new moon initiated the “cutting away” of what’s no longer needed – 48hrs later the CDC announced new masks recommendations. These new guidelines allowed the vaccinated to go mask less (in most situations). And signaled to the world that experts believed the U.S. was ready to begin safely reopening.
Two weeks later, on May 26th, at the start of this Summer’s Eclipse season we were asked to become aware of our true devotion and where it lies. This Total Super Lunar Eclipse had defining moment written all over it. And it’s possible that you considered making a big commitment: either to strengthen your dedication to a life path or to put it elsewhere.
Now, as the summer 2021 Eclipse Season comes to a close with an Annular Solar Eclipse on June 10th from 6:51-6:55am EST, we are asked to prove to ourselves during the upcoming lunar cycle that we weren’t making empty promises about our deepest vows.
Although new moons are energetically ripe to support new endeavors, eclipses (solar eclipses are by definition new moons) contain potent psychic energy connected to our individual and collective karma, making them only favorable for spiritual pursuits like fasting. This specific eclipse is an ideal time to perform ritual to ignite your intentions for the new 15-year transit of Pluto in Sidereal Capricorn, which started to gain traction in December 2020.
Saturn is currently transiting with Pluto in Sidereal Capricorn; and both are retrograde. This planetary configuration and its aspect to both eclipses this summer heightens the probability that whatever you symbolically start now will materially manifest as the ‘new’ foundation of your life’s journey.
Today’s new moon eclipse is about committing to traveling the path of your soul’s quest in this lifetime. Be mindful of what you’re focused on and hoping for consciously and subconsciously during this lunar cycle. Intentions set now have the potential to become an obsessive quest for the next year to four and a half years.
Around the 13th of June things may get a little touchy. As the moon transits Mars in Sidereal Cancer, we may find ourselves swept up in impatience, frustration and over coddling. Try channeling this energy into a quick gratitude practice. Because the best way to promote growth and abundance is to take the very best care of what is already present.
The Summer goes into full swing, as the second half of June begins, and the Summer Solstice draws nigh. Getting social, traveling, and play is what many will be strongly called to do when the Sun enters Sidereal Gemini on June 14th. Pleasure, indulgence, and fantasy will be the goal for some. Others will be inspired to experiment with the wisdom found in answers to life’s mysteries. Whichever way you are drawn this summer, serious single-minded dedication to love and devotion is highly favored during this entire lunar cycle.
On June 20th Jupiter turns retrograde and heads back toward Sidereal Capricorn; causing things in society like rumors, gossip, conspiracy theories, and political views to become amplified, again, through mid-fall. You may start to wonder how you survived life pre-2020. Remaining observant and curious will decrease the chances of jumping to mistaken conclusions this summer. It’s also possible that school policies, science, and politics become hotly debated concerns as fall approaches. Universalization of personal life lessons, particularly from the past year, may temporarily impede social and technological advancements.
Venus begins transiting Sidereal Cancer on June 22nd and will remain in this sign with Mars until July 14th. Passion and beauty unite drawing us closer to our dreams, intuition, and creations. You might find yourself working hard to not lose this connection - especially if it’s counter to what you are setting in motion for the next 15years. But remember it’s okay to enjoy it while it lasts.
The day before the full moon, June 24th at 2:39pm EST, Mercury turns direct, and the moon meets Ketu in Sidereal Scorpio. Any anxiety that has been building since late May will start to slowly dissipate after Mercury goes direct and the moon is reborn on July 9th. More on all this in the next forecast.
