Dec 2021 | Solstice & The Year Ahead, 2022 Part I: Your Path is Being Illuminated
A mash up of cosmic events surrounded this year’s December Solstice. An eclipse, full moon, Venus retrograde, and Kal Sarpa yoga formation gave it an energy akin to the relief of realizing you didn’t burst into a flaming halo of death after being shot from the mouth of a fire breathing dragon, like a cannon ball. Only then, to have your throat drop into the pit of your stomach when you suddenly wonder what you’ll find as you reach up to feel if your parachute is still intact. Impact. The earth is beneath you. Finally, you can completely relax. Then it swallows you whole.
Now, imagine you open your eyes and like the 1993 film Groundhog Day, the above roller coaster chain of events begins again, and again, and again. From now until May 2022, with each passing lunar cycle, we will face a recursive reliving of our past karma. Our awareness will be caught by the tail of the serpent of time, Kal Sarpa. It will coil tightly around our subconscious as the moon travels through its cosmic belly that stretches from sidereal Scorpio through sidereal Taurus. Along this journey the moon will meet every planet in our solar system, absorbing its experience and allowing us to re-remember past words and deeds.
The discomfort we’ll feel in the days near each new moon is caused by the quantum activation of unresolved pain held in old wounds as the moon transits its debilitation point in sidereal Scorpio. This is also where Ketu, the end of the serpent’s tail, has been located since fall 2020 and will remain until late February 2022. Here, our subconscious fear, shame, guilt, doubt, and worry churn into a gnawing as the moon transits this location. Resistance only serves to compound our discomfort into frustration and suffering. It builds until it bursts. Near the time of each full moon, as it transits Rahu and its exhalation point in Taurus, the moon is released from the mouth of Kal Sarpa. At this time our path forward is illuminated once again, and we ascend to a higher level of realization, vibration, and insight. We will also be able to clearly see how far we have traveled by faith through the darkness.
Just as our ascension will be greatest around the next five full moons, our Karma is to be most potent and isolating as the moon waxes and traverses Kal Sarpa (Dec30-Jan14, Jan27-Feb10, Feb23-Mar10, Mar20-Apr5, April 17-May2). Those with natal planets in the signs associated with the current Kal Sarpa location (sidereal Scorpio to sidereal Taurus) or those with a natal Kal Sarpa will likely feel the price of past karma and the release from its grip more than others. The lessons we are to face during each of these upcoming lunar cycles will have an eerily similar focus, but varied theme. Despite the darkness there is the hidden potential to make quantum leaps in the areas of life governed by the houses Kal Sarpa spans in our natal charts because will be able to channel what has arisen into life altering shifts that align us more closely with our karmic dreams. So, if we’re open, listening, and discerning the rewards will also be great.
This maddening saga has a deep purpose. It, like all cosmic drama, is preparing us for what’s set to transpire. In 2022, like 2020, we are scheduled to enter a new era of epic celestial shifts. It begins slowly in April 2022 when Neptune and Jupiter enter sidereal Pisces and reaches a steady force by mid 2024. One of the keys to handling all that’s to come lies in something that began just two days before the December solstice. On December 19th Venus turned retrograde while hemmed between Saturn and Pluto in Sidereal Capricorn. The importance of dedication and self-respect for us to be able to manifest our inspirations into material results will be magnified until late February when Venus returns to the same point in Capricorn where its retrograde period began. Meaning, our personal Groundhog Days that are ahead are not being sent to punish, but to liberate and prepare. Much more on all this, other important planetary aspects, and how to make the most of it in Part II of the year ahead.
Therefore, when I say the time between now and the June 2022 Solstice will be interesting, I mean it is ripe with the gathering of massive potential for our future 2023/2024 selves; filled with individual and collective innovation and progress; more revelations of astonishing “truths;” and hopefully the blessing of much greater awareness and appreciation for the eternal, hidden and internal. If we can bear the sacrifice, that is. Now, is a perfect time to commit to the work necessary to create the future that has been calling you. If you need to release the past to assist you in this creation, the universe will be showing you a clear way out in the first half of 2022; but you must be willing to listen, have faith, and act.
